For me the paddle needed more power, plough through and some other desires. By adding weights and building up the handle size (diameter), I was able to achieve this. The paddle is now is GOOD and ENOUGH. Thank you for allowing me to demo this paddle, I would not have been able to afford money wise to take the chance of just buying it.
I'm left-handed so I use a lot of spin. This paddle face is very gritty so I get excellent spin on the ball. It's heavier than my previous paddle, so it seems like I get better control and better consistency. My bowling serve was always inconsistent with my old paddle, but I think the grittier face puts more topspin on the ball so I can hit bowling serves harder and they don't go long with this paddle. After 3.5 hours of play I like this paddle better than my Honolulu.
Hey existing paddle broke at the handle on a smash. They warrantied it and new one has been great.
The spin this thing generates is elite and the power seems to only get better the more I use it!
I was very satisfied with this program. I think the idea of trying out a paddle before you try it saves a lot of hassle, and the paddle came in amazing condition. Great!
Love the upgrade from original mark paddle R2. I think the face improvements and added power make this very easy to pick up and play with right away. The extended warranty is also amazing for the industry looking for more durable options for rec players.
This paddle does everything really good. It does not have weakness. You will be a better player with this paddle.
Power of this paddle is not as I read the ad. I compared the specs to the Mark 1 and they should be similar. Mark 1 has much more pop and now I am stuck with the Mark 3. I inquired about performance in the chat, the response said someone would get back to me but they never did.
I have had three Mark paddles. This one didn't have the feel initially as my last one but after using it a few times I have fallen in love with it. Fast, spinny and great control. It is now my favorite paddle of all time. Especially at its price.
I am a reactional pickleball player and feel I've improved my pickleball game with the MARK 02R3. My drop shots, dinks, and drives seem to be more consistent. I purchased my paddle through Mark's Pickleball demo program and plan to keep it. In my opinion, a very good paddle for price.
I have owned a number of different paddles and this is by far my favourite. Heavy enough plow through the ball but light enough that it doesn’t feel cumbersome. Grit is fantastic, nice sweet spot, and good dwell time. Will definitely buy a Mark again in the future.
I have transitioned from a CRBN X series paddle to yours. I am extremely happy with the choice and am enjoying my game. I feel control is superior on this paddle than on my previous.
I have the R2, so I'm going to compare them. The R2 is a great control paddle, but perhaps a touch light on pop. Love the face and spin generation. Really good for my game where I don't lack for power and really want to feel a lot of control in resets and dinks.
Bought the R3 as my first foam-core paddle. Face feels super solid in the sweet spot. Ball comes off a lot hotter than the R2, so much so it took me a few plays to adjust for serves and around the kitchen.
The only thing I find different than the R2 is that off center hits near the side edges just have no forgiveness, very dead. I'm guessing that the honeycomb R2 has some reinforcement near the edges that has the benefit of helping with this. It's caught me out on a reset or two, but, skill issue. I need to find the center of the face.
All in all, it's a great paddle, a good addition to my collection. If you're looking for more heat and have no problem finding the sweet spot, the R3 might be right for you.
I'm a 5.0+ player (according the the incredibly accurate DUPR) and let me tell you this paddle is amazing. MARK pickleball consistently churns out amazing paddles. I have not liked the newer models of many paddles and not a fan of foam but THIS paddle changed all that. It really is the unicorn that has plenty of power and plenty of control. I felt like anywhere I hit the ball on the paddle it went over. Opponents were mad and that made me happy. Great price, great company. More people need a MARK in their lives!!!
The Mark 02R3 is one of the most balanced padels I have used so far. I have Joola Perseus IV and a Luzz Cannon before I owned the Mark 02R3. The Mark 02R3 is a great combination of both my previous padels. It has power and control engineered into it seamlessly, without sacrifcing a good sweet spot on the padel. Definitely would recommend this padel to any player out there who is struggling to find a balance on control and power. Also, pricing is still reasonable!
If you're looking for a full foam paddle that has plenty of power and pop but you don't really love the super stiff, hollow feel of a lot of Gen 4 paddles, the Mark 02R3 is the paddle for you. I love that I can absolutely rip serves and drives and still maintain control on soft shots and resets. This paddle gives plenty of quality feedback on mis-hits and offers linear power output. It's predictable. What you put into it is what you get out of it, and that's super valuable to me.
I think people who want a Luzz Tornazo, this is better in every way. It's a bit stiffer for players who want to play off pop and angles, and allows your to hit with precision. Its MARK's best paddle, and its unique enough no other paddle on the market matches this feeling. So if your not a player who needs reliable pop and timing of hits. This is your best bet
This paddle has a very unique feel, compared to other foam paddles. The surface grit is top tier. Resets are not something I practice but could easily place them with this paddle. Power wise, I did notice more power on drives and mid court attacks, with the control it has, you have a lot more potential to attack from places I wouldn’t have normally. All my friends loved playing with it as well.
The MARK 02R3 checks all the boxes for me—power, spin, and control—wrapped in a super clean drip.
I've been in love with the original Mark 2 ever since it's come out. I didn't think it could get any better, and here we are with my new favorite paddle!
Great control and pop. Added a coin weight at the bottom to lower balance. Hits hard and accurate with ball placement :) 10/10 would buy again.
I came from the BNB loco and honestly the transition was super smooth, meaning both paddles felt very similar. Love love love the added grit on this paddle though, as I really like to add spin in my game
